Our world is full of amazing sites and structures. Some man made by some super talented people, and some purely created by the power of mother nature. We are so lucky to have the opportunity to experience most of these history filled places for ourselves.
The original list of seven world wonders were written by the historian Herodotus and Callimachus of Cyrene, although their original writings have not survived.
Of these, unfortunately there is only one still standing, the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt.
In 1997 CNN put together the list of seven natural world wonders, which came with much debate, which is understandable considering how amazing our natural world really is. We haven’t even discovered all its beauty yet.
In 2007 an online contest was put together by the New 7 Wonders Foundation. Over 200 monuments were listed and millions of votes were cast to produce what we now call the Seven New World Wonders.
Now the lists a plentiful, there are the world wonders of the industrial world, underwater world, solar system, cities, so so many.
Don’t limit yourself to only these if you plan to learn about or visit, the world is full of amazing marvels and hidden gems. Keep curious, keep looking and asking the questions. But for now, this is a great place to start.
